If you don’t fancy the 8 mile walk around Derwentwater, then you can still go for a 50 minute cruise to explore the whole lake.

You can take in the lake’s scenic beauty by boarding one of the launches from the jetty, just 10 minutes’ walk from Keswick town centre.

The charming motor launches, operated by Keswick Launch Company, cruise around the lake stopping at 7 lakeside jetties where you can hop off or simply stay on the boat for the whole 50 minute boat ride.

Derwentwater Lake Cruise Prices

You can buy a day pass or round trip which gives you the flexibility to hop on and off at any of the 8 jetties until you return to the point of your first departure.

Adult ticket – £11.00
Children (5-15 years) – £5.70
Family (2 + 3) – £27.50
Children under 5s – Free

The prices cover one round trip from the point of departure and you are able to get off and on the boat until you arrive at the original point of departure. Prices are provided as a guide only and are correct as of Oct 2020.

You can also hire different boats of up to 8 people. You do not need any prior boating experience as full safety instructions and life jackets are provided for everyone on board.
The prices for 1 hour boat hire starts at £15 for a small rowing boat (for up to 4 people) to £33 for a motorised boat (upto 8 people).
